Mitsubishi Colt CZC (2006-2009)

The Mitsubishi Colt CZC is an affordable mini Coupe-Convertible with lots of character. It looks good with the roof down but less so with it up. Rear seats are made for children only but the luggage space is good when the roof is up. The Colt CZC’s interior is funky, but well detailed and thought out.

Clearly aimed to compete with Nissan’s Micra C+C and the Peugeot 206CC it. Both sold in larger numbers so the CZC is at least less common. The styling takes the front end of the Colt and adds new hind quarters that don’t altogether match up but look better when the roof is down. The car itself is fun to drive and comfortable on long distances with the roof up.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre engine which is average in its standard form but was potent in the later discontinued Turbo model. Standard equipment, as with all Mitsubishis is excellent giving a feel of a premium vehicle to this cute little car.

does any one know if i can pull a caravan with a mitsubishi colt convertible and if so what sort of caravan

  2. Avatar for Mark Mark says:

Sorry, the Colt convertible – like most convertibles – is not suitable for pulling anything. Not even a small trailer.
I own a Colt czc my self.

Can adults get in the back?

    • Avatar for Editor Editor says:

No, even children would struggle to get in the back seats of the Colt CZC. It’s more of an extra storage area.

I absolutely love my Colt convertible, it has given me so much fun. But now I have a new granddaughter just arrived & can’t find a baby seat that will fit in the back. Do Mitsubishi have a recommendation? Looks like the car or the grandchild will have to go

  5. Avatar for Tracie Tracie says:

you should be able to put car seat in front seat and turn off air bag with the key in the glove box

I bought my Orange, Colt convertible, CZC Turbo. new in 2007. I can recommend this car as I have done long motorway journeys many times. I love the summer with the roof open, and as my hair is the same colour, I get a lot of comments about it. My husband keeps saying I must get a new car, BUT do not want to part with my Colt. Long may it last. I have had one adult in back, but with the roof down.

I’m looking at an orange CZC (non-turbo) which has 66k miles and is being sold by an independent dealer for £1295. They must have had it for some time because its last mot expired December 2018. I’m a bit wary though because its online mot history shows quite a list of failure reasons for its 2017 mot (exhaust leak, cv gaiter damage, anti-roll bar joint wear, etc) – have you had problems with passing the mot? What year is, what miles was, and what did you pay for your turbo?
