Until recently Diesel convertibles were unheard of. The idea of building a sporty, attractive car and then powering it by a sleepy and noisy oil-burner just didn't make sense. However, in the 21st century diesels have lost their old stigma. Modern diesels are not only efficient but also relatively quiet, powerful and smooth. Cruising along, you will not even notice that it's there. And considering the rising fuel costs it now makes a great deal of sense. There will still be a little noise and vibration at low speeds but nothing like the agricultural feel of older cars. Another change is the fact that many company car buyers can now specify convertibles and for the high mileage driver, a diesel is the only choice. There's plenty to choose from these days too. From small cars, four seaters and roadsters right up to big 4x4s. The addition of diesel power won't benefit resale values quite as much as it will in a normal car so make sure your mileage will justify the extra expense should there be one. In the long run, many drivers will find diesel a worth while investment but it's worth making some calculations first. |
We make every effort to ensure that the data we hold is correct and up-to-date, but inaccuracies do occur and car prices, specifications can change. If in doubt, we recommend that before making a purchasing decision you check a Car Dealer. Some car photographs may feature cars of a different specification or body style to the car reviewed or featured.
