Pontiac G6 Convertible (2006-2009)

Based on the Pontiac G6 mid-size sedan which replaced the long-standing Grand Am, the convertible provides occupants with ample space for roof-down cursing. Unlike the sedan, the Pontiac G6 Convertible range started with a V6 engine with a 3.5 L capacity powering the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Unlike the Coupe the Convertible did not have a manual gearbox option.

Styling is restrained and for a car targeting the US market the ride is reasonably taut but hardly the performance car that the marketing people will have you think.

Under the two piece folding steel roof is a spacious, well equipped cabin which will seat four adults in comfort.

The Pontiac G6 (although in sedan form) will go down in history as being the last car to roll of the brand’s production line when the financial crisis caused the doors to be closed in 2010.

Superb body lines. Astounding up/down hardtop convertible action. Smooth. yet, exotic operation of an American made, easy to service and always reliable fun ride. Affordable to own, but feels as though you’ve splurged. Plenty of power without unnecessary expense. yet the feel of foreign intrigue. Why Buick hasn’t picked this up as it’s own remains a mystery.

Bought the car 2007 brand new. Has a problems with stabilizer bar bushings and replaced new shaft. Too soon for replacement cause it has only 9,759 miles which cost me $467.70

The only thing I dislike about my 2007 G6 hardtop convertible is that I can’t replace it with a new one. It has 117,000+ miles with only minor maintenance costs. Looks almost brand new. May replace with Buick Cascada, but hesitant because that is coming out as a soft top and I strongly prefer hardtop.
