Finally, Ferrari have started to do things right. Although their cars have always been breath-taking, build quality has often been neglected. Their latest cars, however, not least the Ferrari F430 Spider, are built with the precision of a Formula 1 car and the beautifully hand-crafted interiors are now suitable for drivers without ape-like proportions. The V8 engine has now been perfected and goes as gloriously as it sounds. The open Spider version accounted for over 50% of the sales and is just as good to drive as the fixed-roof coupe. Unfortunately everyone realised quite how good this car is which resulted in a three-year waiting list. Good things come to those who wait.
