Ford’s folding hardtop Focus model has received a face-lift in time for the Geneva Motor Show. The changes are mostly cosmetic with new front end styling and an updated interior. Engines remain the same with 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines as well as a 2.0 litre diesel. The convertible roof is also unchanged as an efficient two-piece folding hardtop.
The Focus Coupe-Cabriolet is built on Ford’s behalf by Pininfarina at their Bairo plant, near Turin in Italy. Despite requests from US drivers it remains only available in Europe. Ford’s decision not to market this car in the US may lie with Pininfarina’s manufacturing contract and the cost of imports however the Volvo C70 is based on the same platform and sells in both continents.

Why isn’t this car available in the US??
Awesome car and very stylish too. Tom Gorman, Ford’s Australia President has said that “Coupé-Cabriolet is the sophisticated new star of the Focus range and will become the hero car in terms of luxury flair and elegance, just as the Focus XR5 Turbo represents performance.”
It is kind of sad how Ford, an American brand from the start is not available to the U.S. I give Ford a thumbs down for even thinking about that idea. What a shame, nice car too.
This is another example of American car companies being too thick-skulled to realize that there is a market for this car in their home country. Rather than lose thousands on every slow-selling over-sized SUV, they could be moving these off the lots. We Americans are supposed to only respond to the beefier-crassier Mustang. Someday, perhaps US execs will wise up and offer this car in the US, perhaps even as a Diesel.

2008 Ford Focus Coupé-Cabriolet is one of the best cars that I know. I remember when my husband bought me this car for our anniversary from one of the local car dealers. Indianapolis, Indiana is just one of those places which have really reliable and trustworthy car suppliers worldwide.
