Newport Convertible Engineering have put together a bespoke Toyota Prius Convertible for an unnamed client. The prius is one of the best known hybrid cars on the market bringing in excellent fuel economy for a car of it’s size. Perhaps the owner was looking for a guilt free open top cruiser without the wait for any of the electric offerings currently in the pipeline.
The California firm have been producing convertible versions of fixed roof cars for over 25 years
It’s interesting that none of the mass manufacturers have yet to realise that people may want a car that is both kind to the environment AND fun. Perhaps this convertible will give some inspiration.
Why Toyota is not trying to make one of the greatest convertible electric sports cars. I believe personally by doing so the company will make better sale, as the price of petrol is rising madly and public can not afford to pay for higher petrol price but willing to drive economical sport car.
